Raised in Gisborne, based in Tāmaki Makaurau, DJ and producer Hyan is carving his name into New Zealand’s electronic music scene. 

Best known for high energy DJ sets, as well as his charismatic personality, Hyan’s Kiwi twist on UK dance music has seen him gain praise at home and abroad. Although mainly rooted in UKG, Hyan’s sound is diverse, playing & producing everything from Dubstep to Electro to Jersey Club. In 2025 Hyan completed his first UK tour, including GemFest & a sold out mainroom set at The Cause London, as well as numerous shows all across Aotearoa (NZ), Australia & Japan. 

2025 has seen Hyan release his debut EP ‘We Mustn’t’, alongside popular soundcloud bootlegs, official remixes for MESSIE, Sachi, Scribe & Who Shot Scott & collaborations with artists like MELODOWNZ, Caru, Deadforest & Dera Meelan.

Hyan has released music on labels Pull Up Recordings & EC2A and received plays on George FM, BBC 1xtra, Rinse FM, Boiler Room & Triple J, as well as support from DJ’s world wide. In 2023 Hyan’s track Final Credits Flowdan Dub reached #1 on the Soundcloud all genre’s chart and sat at #1 on the Soundcloud House chart for 3 months straight. 

As well as headline tours of New Zealand, Hyan has supported international artists such as Skin On Skin, Hamdi, Bullet Tooth, Badger, MESSIE, Soul Mass Transit System, Kessler, MPH, 33 Below & more.
